I want to introduce myself, my name is Kathryn Knapp (Miss) and I am the school's Interim Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCo).
I feel privileged to join the school, along with your new Interim Headteacher Mr Davies, from our base at The Schools of Woolton Hill.
Today I have received such a warm welcome from your children and the wonderful Ecchinswell and Sydmonton staff. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first morning here; meeting children, seeing them active in their learning and I have been trying hard to learn lots of new names!
My handover with Amanda Bailey was thorough so parents with children on the schools SEND Register, or those Mrs Bailey was monitoring, should feel confident that I already know a lot of details about your child's learning and needs. My time at the school is scheduled for a Wednesday morning each week so parents can and should make contact through the admin office outside of this time if they have concerns about their child's learning and would like to speak or meet with me.
I am keen to initially get to know your children and their profiles better through observation and discussion with school staff who already know them well. This is such a strength of the school as your children are known well as individuals by the dedicated staff team here. I will, over this term, make contact with all families of children on the SEND Register so I can gain your views and work in collaboration with you. Please bear we me as this will take some time.
