School Performance
We’re proud to share how our school is performing across key areas, including external inspections and national assessments. While our small cohort size sometimes limits how much data can be publicly reported, we remain committed to transparency and progress for every pupil.

— TRACKING PROGRESS
Care & Conduct
At ESPS, children thrive in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where clear expectations and strong relationships help everyone feel secure. We prioritise both physical and emotional safety, ensuring that all pupils are known, valued, and protected. Positive behaviour is encouraged through kindness, consistency, and a shared commitment to care.
If you have any concerns about a child’s welfare, please contact the school directly or refer to Hampshire Children’s Services on 0300 555 1384.
Behaviour
At Ecchinswell & Sydmonton CE Primary School, we believe that positive behaviour stems from strong relationships, clear expectations, and a shared sense of community. Our approach is guided by the principle that every child deserves to feel safe, respected and supported. We promote a culture of kindness, responsibility and mutual respect, where children are encouraged to make good choices and reflect on their actions. Staff use consistent strategies to reinforce expectations, celebrate positive behaviour, and address challenges with empathy and fairness. Our STAR values—stickability, teamwork, aiming high and resilience—are woven into daily life, helping children to develop self-discipline and a strong moral compass. When needed, bespoke support plans are put in place to help individual pupils thrive. Through a calm and purposeful environment, we aim to equip children not only to succeed in school, but to grow into thoughtful, respectful individuals who contribute positively to their community
Safeguarding
At Ecchinswell, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to ensuring that every child feels safe, supported and protected—both in school and beyond. Our safeguarding policies and procedures are guided by statutory frameworks including Keeping Children Safe in Education (2025) and Working Together to Safeguard Children. These policies are regularly reviewed and embedded into daily practice across the school. Key elements of our safeguarding approach include: •Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs): Our Interim Headteacher, Mr Davies and Assistant Headteacher Mrs Hartley lead on safeguarding. •Clear Reporting Procedures: All staff are trained to recognise signs of abuse or neglect and know how to report concerns swiftly and appropriately. •Safer Recruitment: All staff and volunteers undergo rigorous vetting, including enhanced DBS checks, to ensure the safety of our pupils. •Curriculum Integration: Safeguarding is woven into our curriculum through age-appropriate lessons on online safety, healthy relationships, and personal boundaries. •Partnerships with Parents and Agencies: We work closely with families and external professionals to provide early help and ensure coordinated support when needed. •Child-Centred Practice: Every decision we make is guided by what is in the best interests of the child.

Attendance
Absence affects learning and progress. Pupils are expected to attend school every day and arrive on timeparents have a legal duty to make sure this happens.
Absence
Parents must inform the school by 9:00am on the first day of any absence. If no contact is made, the school will follow up — including home visits if necessary.
Lateness
The school day starts at 8:45am and pupils arriving after 8:55am will be marked late or as having an unauthorised absence. Repeated lateness can lead to formal action.
Holidays
Leave during term time will only be authorised in truly exceptional circumstances. Unauthorised holidays may result in a Penalty Notice (fine).
Fines
If a pupil has 10 or more unauthorised sessions within a 10-week period, parents may be issued a Penalty Notice of £60 per parent, per child.

— FOR EVERY CHILD TO THRIVE
Premiums & Provision
We are committed to providing every child with the support, opportunity, and encouragement they need to grow in confidence, capability, and character.
Through dedicated government funding streams like Pupil Premium and PE & Sports Premium, we are able to offer targeted initiatives and improvements that make a real difference to pupil outcomes — both academically and personally.
Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium is funding allocated to support disadvantaged children, helping to close the gap in achievement and ensure that every child has the chance to succeed. You can read more about how we use this funding, the impact it has made, and our strategic priorities in the documents below.
