Spotlight on Our Christian Value: Respect

This month we are focusing on the Christian value of Respect

"Show proper respect to everyone" (1 Peter 2:17)

Headteacher's Update
ree

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of touring prospective new parents around our school. It has been a joy to showcase the high-quality teaching and the exciting learning taking place in every classroom. What stood out most was how confidently and thoughtfully our children articulated their understanding—an inspiring reflection of their engagement and the strength of our curriculum.

A special thank you goes to our wonderful school ambassadors who supported the tours and offered a genuine pupil perspective. Their enthusiasm and honesty made a lasting impression.

I would like to wish all of our families a wonderful half term holiday. Don't forget that Monday 3rd November is an INSET day, so we will welcome all pupils back to school on Tuesday 4th November at 8.45am.

Attendance Matters

School attendance, as always, is a focus for our school this year.

Strong attendance is directly linked with stronger academic achievements as well as contributing to increased sense of belonging and strong social relationships. Here is a summary of each class' attendance this term to date:

Class

Attendance

Dandelion

97.5%

Silver

97.5%

Speedwell

94.5%

We have started to see some autumn colds, coughs and the like make themselves known. Your child is able to come to school with a cough or cold and is only advised to stay home if they have a temperature. More advice can be found on the NHS website

Safeguarding Matters

Social Media Bullying - Childline

Bullying doesn’t stop at the school gates. Social media means children can face harassment anytime, often without adults knowing. Teachers are in a key position to notice, respond and signpost support.

Childline has useful advice for children about online bullying, giving them practical steps on reporting abuse, blocking bullies, and coping strategies.

Sharing this resource are reflecting on these issues in assemblies and lessons helps pupils feel supported, know where to turn, and understand that bullying is never their fault. You can find their advice here: https://www.childline.org.uk/info-advice/bullying-abuse-safety/types-bullying/bullying-social-media

Pupil Showcase
ree

At Ecchinswell Primary School, we take great pride in celebrating the talents and achievements of our pupils.

This week, we were thrilled to enjoy a bassoon recital from Alex in Speedwell Class.

Alex is a gifted musician who began learning the piano at just four years old. His dedication and passion for music are truly inspiring. Learning any instrument requires commitment and perseverance—qualities Alex has in abundance. He has recently taken up a second instrument, the bassoon, and has already achieved Grade 3!

Well done, Alex—what a fantastic achievement!

We would love to continue showcasing the accomplishments of our pupils in future newsletters. If your child has a special talent or achievement you'd like to share, please do get in touch.
