Safeguarding:

Child Car Seat Safety

Keeping our children safe is a priority both in and out of school. The ROSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) offers excellent guidance on car seat safety.

Key points from the law:

  • All children travelling in the front or rear seat of a car, van, or goods vehicle must use the correct child car seat until they are either 135cm tall or 12 years old (whichever comes first).

  • After this point, they must use an adult seat belt.

  • It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure children under 14 are restrained correctly.

  • The rules differ for buses, coaches, and minibuses. All coaches used by the school for trips are fitted with seat belts.

Parent Questionnaire

Thank you to those who have already completed the parent questionnaire.

VE Day Celebrations at School

We are excited to host our very own VE Day street party on Thursday 8th May.

  • Children should come dressed in red, white, and blue (no crop tops, please) with trainers.

  • The celebrations will begin at 1:45pm with a family scavenger hunt (with prizes!), followed by a street party in the playground.

  • Parents and families are warmly invited to join us.

  • Children should bring party food in a lunch box. If you are attending, please bring enough food for yourself and your family, or add a little extra for sharing.

We can’t wait to celebrate together!

Year Six SATs and Special Breakfasts

Year 6 children will be taking their end of Key Stage 2 assessments from Monday 12th May to Thursday 15th May.

To help them start the day positively, we are inviting Year 6 pupils to a special breakfast each morning.

  • Arrive at school by 8:15am.

  • Go straight into class to get settled.
