Spotlight on Our Christian Value: Courage

This month we are focusing on the Christian value of courage.

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” — 1 Corinthians 16:13

Year 6 Updates

Year 6 enjoyed a wonderful Leavers’ Service at Winchester Cathedral, beginning with cathedral activities and a tour of the crypt, and ending with an afternoon service.

  • Friday 4th July: Y6 will enjoy a surprise day trip as a celebration of their time at school. Parents, please keep the destination a secret!

  • Thursday 17th July, 2:00pm at Ecchinswell Church: Parents are warmly invited to join the school in celebrating Year 6’s achievements at our own Leavers’ Service. Please bring tissues — it’s always emotional!

  • Last day of term: Children may bring in a shirt to be signed by classmates (not the one they are wearing, for safeguarding reasons).

Safeguarding:

Tick Awareness

As we enjoy more time outdoors, please be aware that ticks are on the increase.

This resource provides guidance on how to remove ticks and signs and symptoms to watch for.

Looking Ahead to Next Term

Thank you to parents who came to meet Mr Davies, our Interim Executive Headteacher starting in September. He is excited to join the Ecchinswell school community.

We also prepare to say goodbye to Mrs Bailey, who is retiring this term. She has dedicated many years to teaching and supporting children with additional needs, making an incredible difference to our school. We wish her a happy and well-deserved retirement.

Our SENCo role will be taken on by the SENCo from the Woolton Hill Federation of Schools. Miss Knapp will visit before the end of term to work with Mrs Bailey on a thorough handover.
