Funding has been allocated to Hampshire County Council by the Department for Work and Pensions to support vulnerable households who are struggling because of the pandemic as part of the COVID Local Support Grant Scheme. Through the ‘connect4communities’ programme they have developed a planned programme of supportive measures mainly, but not exclusively, targeting families on low incomes with children. The aim is to help these families with financial support for food, utilities or other essentials.

Part of this award was used to provide community grants to voluntary and third sector organisations who know their communities best and are in the ideal position to offer support. One of the grant recipients is Citizens Advice who were awarded a community grant to fund FREE fuel vouchers for families and individuals struggling to pay utility bills
