Our Curriculum

We pride ourselves on our curriculum as we feel that it closely matches the needs and interests of our children. In the summer term 2020, it was reviewed to ensure the knowledge and skills in the national curriculum were being taught with a clear progression. Each half-term each class will study a topic, through a concept, which will include a variety of subjects. Where possible English and other subjects may be linked to this.

Please look at the information below to find out more about our curriculum or speak with your child's class teacher.

Curriculum Structure

The Concept Map

We teach the curriculum through a set of concepts, which helps to link the children's thinking and extend their understanding.

Our Curriculum Maps

We encourage parents and family members to be involved in their child’s learning as much as possible and there are opportunities to visit school and see the work within a topic.

Take a look below at the topic coverage for each year group. We work to either a two-year or three-year cycle depending on the class structure. (PDF documents are found below)

NB: For the academic year 2020 - 2021 (cycle B) some topics were taught in different terms due to coronavirus guidelines and restrictions.

Years R,1 and 2 are currently working on Cycle A.

Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 are currently working on Cycle B.
